Barcaldine is the site of the end of the Great Shearers Strike and where under the Tree of Knowledge the execution of documents creating the Australian Labor Party. We spend the time of the setting sun wandering the exhibits here and marvel at the history

Today will be disjointed as far as the driving goes. 100 kilometres up the road is Longreach, the home to 2 amazing museums.

Today is all about dinosaurs. Winton has some amazing archaeological digs.

This is an idyllic spot. Vans settled, Silver Leader suggests we need to deploy the yabby traps.

Its dry out here – very dry. The dust is everywhere but that adds to the experience for now. We will see if it detracts as the trip goes on.
