Here We Go Again

Its Broome Cup weekend and space is limited. The residents beside us in the park have only been lucky enough to secure two nights and with tickets to the race meeting which happens to be on their last day, they will need to move their van before they can go to the races.

The service manager returns to his desk. For the next three hours I sit and wait. I can see the Cruiser in the car park as it was when I arrived. It is not moved.

As the cars start to head off, the eyes are stabbed by the brightness of their headlights. It takes some time for them to return to being able to see properly. We are one of the last to leave. Greg has taken an interest in us and Kirsten and is happy to simply talk.

For quite some time leading into today my headaches and back issues have been getting worse. We pass two chiropractors businesses and take down their details. We will be on the phone to them on Monday to see about availability.

The views here are breathtaking (as if nothing else we have seen this morning haven’t). But to stand here on top of a point where the ocean casts its mesmerising veil across you is something many similar points around the globe can only do if you are there. I send lots of pictures to family and friends “wishing they were here”

Given the state of the engine under the hood, one wonders if they looked given the air intakes are still full of leaves. He is not a happy camper and he intends to front the service manager in the morning with his worries

Robyn calls – booked out. We are both annoyed, Should have just done it, to coin the Nike slogan.

For the first time in a long time, I have no afternoon headache. The work of the chiropractor Dr. Harley has done well I think to myself.

Along the way we see a young local on a motorbike. No protective gear, no helmet, no attempt to obey any road rules as to speed or the use of the road. He bounces along the footpath, flat out, tail wagging through the dust where the concrete ends

Again – everyone being full of their own importance.
