We had been across the Nullarbor now from west to east in two days. We had not played the Nullarbor Golf Course, although we had viewed a couple of holes during our stops
During the afternoon I went for a wander trying to get the best sunset shot. The sun fell between the clouds and the horizon, lighting up the underside of the clouds with drizzles of gold on a bright orange backdrop.
Walking back, I run into a family of emus. Dad and seven chicks are feeding beside the road.
The first bait was gone and I felt nothing. It was the head of the squid and I had tied it on for better attachment, but the fish are quick here evidently.
Far too often, we have said to ourselves, “when we come back, we will have to spend more time”, and that is right, but life gets in the way, and if we allow it, the little things will take over.
As I return, the others are preparing for a beach walk in the twilight. The sand here is bleached white and the azure water rolls over it, backwards and forwards, simply cleaning it more.
There is confusion as to what we are aiming to do today. Robyn and I need to have jabs for whooping cough so we can see a newborn in Echuca in a couple of weeks. Rosalie wants to get her hair done and Forbsy, just wants to play Forbsy, but does not want to stay in his van.
The reception staff have seen this all too often and send us directly to our sites, leaving us to return to fix up the fees. Smart move on their part.
